Tradition

Dancing is a family tradition. In this 1999 photo, Mother and I take a twirl to Security by the late great Otis Redding.
Of course, the younger generation found it quite amusing, as they had never heard of Otis Redding; and did not know that either of us could dance.
Security constituted a reminder of those poignant moments in time when we struggled for survival:
Down home we danced to convey the message of freedom; which befuddled massur jac to no end.
The dance is a often-time forgotten ritual, that I casually allude to in Chapter 1 when I tell you that the "numen pranced about their grave."
