More About This Website

In 2005, I thought that it was about time that we started the conversation: about who we are, and where we came from:

Time to differentiate ourselves from Emma Lazarus' "... huddled masses, longing to be free..." (of the 20th Century).

Recognizing that, more often than not, perception creates a reality of it's own.

Unsung heroes,...

JL. Harris 1998

... perhaps the least appreciated individual out on the mat, particularly at the middle and high school levels, is the referee ... sometimes you have to remind them (the audience) that you didn't pick up your credentials at the local Wal Mart.

While I relied primarily upon video during the 90s', I did return to "still photos" when my youngest son reached high school.

[Let me clarify that. Patty took most of the video and photos.]

Some of our favorites included:

Ira Fleckman officiating one of Clint's matches on the "free-style" circuit

This bout features Jared, with Ira officiating, and me in the coaches box wearing a Central shirt.

Hewitt (officiating): Andrew Hauck in dominant position

Scott (officiating): Clint asking him what is he waiting for.

Scott: getting in position, just in case.

Dick Dehler: with a flair for the dramatic

I should remember his name, but don't. If you remember, send me a email.
